For nearly as long as Langston Concrete Inc. has been around, Mike Langston has held onto a dream to own and to operate his own redi mix concrete plant. That dream was finally able to be realized. In the Spring of 2021, plans started coming together to purchase a brand new Liddell Batch Plant and pair it with a Jonel Batching System. With the help of several industry professionals, we were able to mate a Solomon Color System as well as a Master Builders Admixture System to the plant to further the custom market applications. With these two systems tied to the plant, we are able to provide nearly every color available for decorative concrete and, thanks to the admixtures, are able to take it anywhere imaginable; any time of the year.

CTL Thompson provided engineering services for all our mix designs. Thanks to their hard work and the access to great raw materials in the local region, we are able to offer CDOT approved mix designs. As well as approved mixes for the city of Cañon City and the city of Colorado Springs. We coordinated with companies that offer concrete pumping services and were able to determine what mixes they liked to pump through conventional boom and trailer pumps. We also have a grout mix and a flow-fill mix for applications as necessary.

We are planning on providing redi mix year round. In order to achieve this, we put together a hot water system that will cater to the winter concrete pouring applications nicely. We sourced a used 10,000 gallon water tank for hot water storage and paired it to a 1,950,000 BTU Hesco Industries hot water heater. This particular heater is the largest heater offered by Hesco. So, we are not anticipating having any issues with being able to provide an adequate amount of hot water during the winter months.

Given the 30 years we have been in business pouring concrete and finishing as contractor, we believe we have an upper hand in providing it as a supplier. We intend to lean on our past experiences as we propel into the future with the new redi mix venture and look forward to the exciting opportunities ahead of us.
